"Consequences"
When C.J. tells Rory about his glory days
of being cool after stealing his school's mascot, Rory takes heed and
tries to make a name for himself. He ends up stealing a
drug-sniffing police dog. But Cate doesn't know how to react when
the dog discovers marijuana in Kerry's bag. Meanwhile, Cate is upset
with Bridget when she refuses to wear a helmet while riding on her
boyfriend's motorcycle.

Paul
and
Cate Hennessy have three children, Bridget, Kerry, and Rory.
Since Cate goes back to work as a nurse, Paul takes a job as a
columnist instead of a sports writer in order to be at home more and
make raising the kids a more equal experience. Sixteen year old
Bridget is his oldest, popular daughter who's into fashion that doesn't
quite make her dad happy. Kerry is fifteen and very smart
although not very confident. This forces her to hide behind
sarcasm. Rory is the only male and the only "normal" one
according to Paul...for now. Cate and Paul often refer to him as
"The Boy." Their #1 Rule? "You make my daughters cry, I'll
make you cry." |

After
the
death of Paul, the family struggles to get themselves and their lives
back on track. Kerry finds her self being more outgoing and dates
Kyle, who just happens to be Bridget's ex. Rory, entering
puberty, becomes more and more attracted to girls and is confused
without the direction of a father. Bridget tries to continue with
her "in crowd" but questions the importance of being popular. To
help Cate, her father Jim lives with them along with CJ, Cate's nephew.
Cate still enforces the #1 Rule, "You make my daughters cry, I'll make
you cry."
