On September 11, 2003, John Ritter collapsed on the set of "8 Simple Rules."  John was then taken to Providence St. Joseph Medical Center.  At 10 p.m. he was pronounced dead.  The cause of death was a tear in the aorta.  The tear was a result of an undiagnosed flaw in his heart.  His wife Amy Yasbeck and his little girl Stella now must live without the man they love.  John's three children from his first marriage to Nancy Morgan include Jason, Carly, and Tyler.  Jason was getting into acting and says he owes it all to his dad.  Now, he feel as if it brings him closer to his dad.
    John Ritter was an amazing actor, let alone man.  Following in the footsteps of his parents, John became one of the most well known comedians of his time.  Even know, people who didn't know him before came to love him as Paul on "8 Simple Rules."  The cast was distraught after hearing about John's death.  They said they felt extremely close, almost as if he was a dad to the girls and Martin.
